Preparation

“All’s well that ends well”! Expert and careful preparation brings us closer to our goal – an important first step! We take great care with the preparatory measures: Our specialized teams lay the sliding layer overlapping, carry out reinforcement work, set the edge insulation strips and lay the insulation boards: Everything according to plan and just in time! And rising components must be protected from concrete splashes: only now can we continue!

The uniform layer: Protects against rapid drying out

The overlapping installation of a double-layer floor membrane is essential, as the bottom edge of the concrete slab must be decoupled from the top edge of the base course. This prevents water from running off the concreted floor slab into the substrate and the drying process from starting too quickly.

The edge insulation strip: Protects against thermal bridges and cold bridges

Edge insulation strips are used as an intermediate element where different materials meet. The use of edge insulation strips ensures that no thermal or cold bridges are created. This has a significant positive impact on the indoor climate and heating costs. The additional benefit is crucial: The installation of the insulation strips creates important expansion joints.

Insulation: important in terms of energy

We supply and install highly pressure-resistant and moisture-resistant XPS insulation boards made of extruded rigid polystyrene foam for floor slabs. The requirements can vary in terms of panel thickness and tension: We comply entirely with the specifications of the structural engineers and install all products approved on the market.

Classic mesh reinforcement: essential for high point loads

For high point loads, usually greater than 250 kN, the floor is installed using laser technology. For structural reasons, it is imperative that large-area bearing mats are laid overlapping and on spacers. The type of bearing mat is specified by the structural engineers.

The joint profile: protection against extensive cracking

A key planning task when designing a concrete floor that requires as little maintenance as possible is to avoid weak points from the outset. The development of defects and damage is avoided and the functionality of the industrial floor is maintained. Unprotected joints without steel edge protection suffer from impact stress and high edge pressures depending on the hardness and size of the forklift wheels and are gradually destroyed, especially in the case of large joint cuts. We have been working closely with all well-known joint profile suppliers for years and we install the entire product range:

  •  Standard steel expansion profile
  •   Sinusoidal profile
  •   Door end profile

Joint profiles are not only used to stop construction joints, joint profiles also transfer shear forces and permanently protect the joint flanks against damage.
